About the role

The Web Administrator plays a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the University's website and digital platforms. Operating with routine supervision and general direction, this position ensures website’s optimal functionality, security, and performance to deliver a seamless user experience. The role supports the University's strategic objectives by maintaining a strong digital presence, fostering stakeholder engagement, and collaborating with IT, Marketing, and content teams to drive digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and a user-friendly experience, collaborating with content creators and stakeholders as needed.
  • Manage daily operations of content and event management systems, including uploading content, quality assurance, and providing technical support to internal and external users.
  • Conduct content testing and quality assurance, reporting and escalating performance or usability issues, and supporting the approval process for new content.
  • Collaborate with web developers and cross-functional teams to implement website improvements, updates, and new features, and provide suggestions for enhanced efficiency.
  • Monitor website performance using analytical tools, identify areas for improvement, and assist in implementing strategies to boost user engagement and site effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, accessibility, privacy, and data protection regulations, and provide guidance and training to staff on website best practices.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in web administration or digital content management.
  • Proven experience with content management systems (e.g. Squiz, Swoogo, Funnelback or similar), user research, and usability testing.
  • Working knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with browser testing and debugging.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) and applying SEO, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams and work independently.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, with a customer-focused mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
